A Sharp County mother and step-father have been charged after multi-agency search for a missing four-year-old girl ended with the child being found safe.
According to law enforcement on July 3, the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing child from a home near Grange Road in Sharp County.
Sharp County Sheriff’s deputies, along with multiple volunteer fire departments, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the Arkansas Department of Corrections began searching for the child in the area.
Authorities say during their investigation detectives learned the child’s mother, Cierra Maple, possibly dropped the child off with a family member in Pfeiffer Arkansas the night before.
Independence County Sheriff Office followed up on the lead and located the child with family members, the child had allegedly been with family since July 2nd.
Sharp County arrested Maple and the child’s stepfather identified as Zachary Roberts, on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a minor.
