Powhatan Historic State Park, will host a Canning Workshop on Saturday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join park staff to learn how to preserve tomatoes, corn, beans, squash, and other fruits and vegetables through canning. Staff will discuss the history of canning and give tips for making canning easy. Participants will leave with a sample of canned goods made at the workshop. The registration fee is $25. Space is limited.
Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Quilting Workshop on Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join park staff to learn how to draft a quilt block and sew your pieces together. Staff will discuss the history of quilting and quilt design. Participants will leave with their own quilt square. The registration fee is $15. Space is limited.
