Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder announced this afternoon the discovery of skeletal remains in the Lake Ashbaugh area.
This is the same area where Jessica Paige Kemp was last seen and the focus of numerous searches.
According to the sheriff’s office, an investigator and civilian searchers were in an area southwest of Lake Ashbaugh when they encountered a strong smell commonly associated with decomposition . Upon further investigation, skeletal remains in an advanced stage of decomposition were discovered.
Sheriff Snyder stated the remains were sent for identification and no further information would be released.
Sheriff Snyder said the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was being assisted by the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division.
