Authorities report Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child on Monday June 2nd.

Sharp County Sheriff’s Department announced in a news release the arrest of Scott Rose following a coordinated investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.

Scott Rose is charged with sexual assault 2nd degree, sexual indecency with a minor, furnishing alcohol to a minor, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

Sharp County Sheriff Shane Russell reported he received the allegations against Rose in late March 2025.

Investigators conducted a preliminary investigation and revealed that early information was based on rumor, but after interviews with the victim and her family, details of sexual abuse were uncovered.

Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI were all named in the investigation.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
