Arkansas State Police and Jonesboro Police Department today released details and identities in a motorcycle accident that claimed the life’s of two Jonesboro people.
Jonesboro Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle at an intersection before the rider fled. The Jonesboro PD officer did not pursue the fleeing motorcycle, instead he gave his dispatch a description of the bike and riders. Moments later, Jonesboro dispatch began receiving reports of the same motorcycle involved in an accident.
According to the Arkansas State Police Fatal Crash Report, Thomas J. Haney, age 28 of Jonesboro (driver of the motorcycle) and Willow S. Searcy (passenger) were both killed when the 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle ran the red light at Nettleton and Flint intersection colliding with a 2023 Chrysler.
The crash occurred at 3:50pm on Sunday.
