On May 21, 2025, officers from the Corning Police Department observed a male and female slumped over in a vehicle parked at Casey’s General Store.

Upon making contact with the driver and passenger, the officers observed the passenger holding items of drug paraphernalia in his hand. The officers then conducted a search of the vehicle and the driver and passenger.

The search yielded a glass pipe on the driver containing approximately 1 gram of a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

Additionally, the passenger was found to be in possession of a crystal substance weighing 28.1 grams that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Several unmarked capsules containing a crystal substance that tested positive for Fentanyl were also located in the vehicle. Furthermore, several other items of drug paraphernalia were found, as well as a plastic box with a magnet attached to it. Robert Bidwell, 48, and Hollie Crook, 38, both of Ola, Arkansas, were arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. Mr. Bidwell was later released to be admitted to the hospital for a medical emergency. Ms. Crook remains in jail awaiting a bond hearing. Mr. Bidwell was charged with 5-64-419 felony possession of a schedule one controlled substance methamphetamine greater than 10 grams and less thant 200 grams, 5-64-421 felony possession of fentanyl, and 5-64-443 felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Crook was charged with 5-64-419 felony possession of a schedule one controlled substance methamphetamine less than 2 grams, 5-64-421 felony possession of fentanyl, and 5-64-443 felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
