On May 18, 2025, a Corning Police Department officer observed a black Chevy Cobalt traveling on West Main Street that appeared to have been spray painted.
The officer then ran the tags on the vehicle, which returned to a purple vehicle.
The officer initiated a traffic stop on North Missouri Avenue. During the stop, the officer noticed a pill bottle between the seats.
When asked what was in the pill bottle, the driver handed it to the officer. The officer observed several small plastic baggies inside the bottle, one containing a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Tracey Craft, a 53-year-old Corning resident, was arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center, charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia under 5–64–443. Ms. Craft is currently awaiting bond.
