Authorities report that one of two people arrested at a home on Cranfield Road in Mountain Home after drugs and paraphernalia were discovered during a compliance check in February 2024 has been sentenced to prison.

John Dewayne Allen, age 46 of Paragould, entered a guilty plea to his charges and was sentenced to 10 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

29-year-old Molly Jean Dillard also of Paragould, the co-defendant in the case has not yet been to court.

Authorities say the arrest was a direct result of a compliance visit with Allen who was on parole at the time.

During a February 2024 compliance visit, officers found more than a dozen types of controlled substances in the residence, including:

-Eight glass jars of marijuana
-seventy grams of methamphetamine
-A plastic bag containing a small amount of Fentynal
-12 grams of ecstasy
-Psilocybin mushrooms
-Eighty grams of hashish
-Nineteen suboxone strips
-Hydrocodone pills
-Oxycodone pills
-Alprazolam pills
-Clonazepam pills
-Amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills

Allen has a lengthy criminal history with numerous felony convictions – including charges of selling controlled substances.

Allen told officers that the drugs they found belonged to his 22-year-old son who had recently died.

Allen claimed he had brought the drugs from Paragould to his vacation home to dispose of them but had not “gotten around to it yet.”
