An accident at the Bobby Humes Memorial Speedway in Black Rock was reported around 9:30pm on Friday night.
Black Rock Fire Department and MedicOne ambulance were dispatched to the go-cart track after Black Rock Police reported a participant had been seriously injured in Friday nights events and requested medical and first responders.
First responders on scene performed CPR on the accident victim and an AED Automatic External Defibrillator was used.
A medical helicopter was requested to the scene but due to a 38 minute estimated arrival, the patient was transported by MedicOne to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, escorted by Black Rock Police arriving at 10:07pm.
No names or further information has been released at the time of this posting.
