On April 11, 2025, an officer from the Corning Police Department stopped a vehicle for speeding on N. Missouri Ave. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered that the tags on the vehicle were fictitious. The officer then made contact with the driver and learned that both the driver and passenger had suspended drivers’ licenses.

The driver was subsequently taken into custody for driving on a suspended license. While awaiting the arrival of a wrecker, officers conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and located a crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and a glass pipe with crystal residue inside.

Patrick Wilson Jr., 46, and William Wilson, 45, both of De Soto, Missouri, were arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center. Both individuals were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance greater than 2 grams but less than 10 grams, a Class C felony, and possession of felony drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony. Patrick Wilson was also charged with numerous traffic violations. On the same day, Clay County District Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause for the above-listed charges. Judge Stidham set bond for both individuals at $25,000 cash or surety.
