Wilba Joe Floyd, 96, of Walnut Ridge, died August 31, 2024, in the Ridgecrest Nursing Home in Jonesboro.
Born July 1, 1928, in Walnut Ridge; son of Earl Davis and Martha Ester Smith Floyd. Joe was united in marriage to Ruth Berniece Dunkin in 1949. He was a member of the National Guard and was Federalized in 1957, during the Little Rock Central High Segregation Crisis. Joe worked with his father-n-law building and contracting homes for several years, then started his career in grocery industry, working at Piggly Wiggly and an ANG store. He later in life worked in sales for Winningham Auto Parts and retired from Farm Service. He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, building guitars, and talking on CB Radios, and Ham radios. He was a Charter member of the Lawrence County Amateur Radio Club; Joe had obtained his expert technician license and went by the call signs K5BMD. Joe loved music, he was fond of southern gospel and classic county; he sang in his church choir and karaoke; He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. 
He is preceded by his parents; his loving wife, Berniece; a brother, Presnell Floyd; and a son-n-law, Ronnie Treece.
Survivors include his daughter, Julia Dianne Treece of Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Tracy Anne (Brian) Harp of Jonesboro; a brother, Glendal (Carlene) Floyd of Walnut Ridge; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Jake Guenrich and Glenn Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.
Visitation will be from 1 P.M. till 2 P.M.
