On Wednesday at 2:40 pm a small earthquake was reported by the USGS.
The 2.2 magnitude earthquake was centered about 4 miles northwest of Powhatan.
The USGS only received one report of a resident feeling the quake and no damage was reported as of Wednesday afternoon.
