After nearly a week of declining cases, Arkansas had a record number of cases on Friday. Over the weekend cases were reported as 631 on Saturday and 508 on Sunday.
Counties in our area are seeing an increased number of new cases according to the Arkansas Department of Health on Monday.
Lawrence County has seen a dramatic rise in cases and currently has 49 active. The ADH reported 5 active cases and 2 active staff at Lawrence Hall as of Sept. 5th/Aug 28th in their last released Nursing Home data. They also report educational institutions with 5 or more cases and WBU is on that list with 9 active students as of September 10th.
