In a press release from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, details were released along with information on the arrest of 32-year-old Desiree Daniels and 36-year-old Randall Edward King in connection with felony charges of endangering the welfare of a 5 month old baby. The incident occurred in May when the child was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center after allegedly suffering from seizures. The child was then taken by medical helicopter to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little as an investigation began. The Arkansas State Crimes Against Children Division and Arkansas Department Of Health were notified and began their investigation as well.
Authorities believe the child suffered two separate traumatic events causing injuries.
After consulting with prosecutors, probable cause was found and the child’s parents have been formally charged with 1st degree child endangerment.
On Thursday the two suspects turned themselves in and were later released on bond but not before a judge ordered other children in the home removed by DHS.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court June 25th.
