This morning the Imboden Live Facebook received a message stating “This is in Pocahontas†with a photo attachment of a local health clinic letterhead with an altered text stating diagnosis as “corona virusâ€. When asked where they acquired this information the sender said “from a friend†We immediately pointed out that the document looked edited. The sender stated “they didn’t know.’ This was an obviously edited form.
This is the type of behavior that not only causes the spread of false information but also contributes to the widespread panic surrounding this illness. All COVID-19 information shared on Imboden Live is directly from the CDC website , Arkansas Department of Health, and other reliable sources.
The attached is the letter attachment sent with the word FAKE in red letters added by us. We are posting this article in hopes to make the public aware of false information being shared locally. This is not to make light of the current pandemic.
