One person is deceased and 2 juveniles have been taken to area hospitals after a one vehicle accident that occurred shortly after 8 am on Saturday.
At 8:04 am Lawrence County Dispatch paged the Lynn Fire Department and AET Ambulance to Hwy 25 at the Lawrence 323 intersection after getting a report of a one vehicle accident with entrapment. Lynn Fire Fighters responded with rescue equipment and once on scene requested the assistance of the Walnut Ridge Fire Department and their rescue equipment along with a second ambulance.
Reports from the scene said that 2 juveniles trapped in the vehicle were extricated by rescue personnel, one was taken by private vehicle to be checked out by medical and the second was transported by ambulance to White River Medical Center in Batesville. One person in the accident was deceased and the Lawrence County Coroner was called to the scene.
Strawberry Fire Department along with Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies and Arkansas State Police were on scene as well assisting in the efforts to free the trapped victims.
The name of the victim or extent of the injuries have not been released at this time pending notification and the conclusion of the accident investigation.
Hwy 25 was closed for a period of time while the rescue efforts were underway.
Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden was requested to the scene to remove the vehicle.
The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
