The recipient of the 2016 Matthews Citizenship Award was Lakyn Phares, daughter of Shawn and Shara Phares of Imboden. The plaque is sponsored by the Matthews family of Imboden and is given annually to a sixth grade student at Sloan-Hendrix School who has shown outstanding citizenship during his/her K-6 grade years.
