Walnut Ridge Police Chief Richey Thatcher submitted his resignation Tuesday morning according to Walnut Ridge Mayor Charles Snapp.
The interim police chief will be announced later today and applications for the position will be taken by the city from qualified applicants beginning Wednesday.
