At 10:50 am on Thursday, Lawrence County Judge Dale Freeman placed Lawrence County under a “Burn Ban†due to dangerous dry conditions in the county.
Fire departments from all over Lawrence County have been battling wild land fires, including more than a half dozen across the county on Wednesday.
No type of outdoor burning is advised, dry conditions, winds and low humidity have increased the chances of out of control fires.
