On December 17, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Walnut Ridge Police Dept. arrested James Gray (02/12/73) and Aleisha Cunningham (12/18/85) both of Walnut Ridge for Delivery of a controlled substance (hydrocodone and marijuana), possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest came after two separate purchases of drugs from the suspects’ residence in Walnut Ridge by an informant wearing a wire. Deputies listened and watched the transactions take place. The information was used to obtain warrants for Gray and Cunningham. Deputies went to the residence to arrest Gray and Cunningham on the warrants. Inside the residence were two minor children. DHS was contacted about the children and took them into care. At the residence deputies also found other drugs and drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await bond hearings. At the jail it was learned that Gray also had a Lawrence County District Court warrant with a $300 bond for old fines and that Cunningham had a warrant out of Poinsett County District Court with a bond of $1,315.58 for hot checks.
