Thursday August 12th the Imboden and Smithville United Methodist Churches held it’s “Dawg Days of Summer” program at the Wayland Spring Camp on Hwy 115.
Pastor Bob McMillon and his wife Peggy McMillon with help from members of both churches put on a wonderful program for the children at the Wayland Springs Camp.
The day started at 3pm with the children swimming in the crystal clear cool water of the pool. Next the children had a Clue Hunt on the grounds of the camp. At 5:30 the children were treated to a hot dog and chips supper, complete with cold sodas and ice cream for dessert. After the feast was a Three-legged race, a blind folded race, a cake walk and a water balloon fight. The evening concluded with a singing at the outdoor chapel with music provided by Mike McLeod of Imboden.
Pastor McMillon estimated as many as 60 children and 40 adults were at the camp for the event. A fun time was had by all and the Imboden and Smithville churches would like to thank all the members who volunteered their time.
