Well it’s not quite that simple, Elvis D. Presley, of Star City, not Elvis A. Presley of Memphis filed papers with the Secretary of State’s office Wednesday as a “write in” candidate for the position of governor.
So far this Elvis impersonator has not said where or how he got his name but he did state that he wants to “supply the people with a broader array of employment and a newer chain of state government.”
Elvis also went on to say that he hopes to debate Governor Mike Beebe on television during the election.
That would get national television ratings up if Elvis and Governor Beebe debated during primetime!
Elvis is facing Gov. Beebe, two Republican candidates and at least two other write in candidates. Elvis must also file with each of the states 75 counties.
Who knows? Stranger things have happened, right?
