May 28th the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program added the Walnut Ridge Commercial District to it’s National Register of Historic Places.
Walnut Ridge joins about 40 towns that are being added for their downtown areas.
Building owners in the district can qualify for a historic preservation projects tax credit as well as incomes qualify for an additional federal tax credit.
