Kathryn Lenora Peters Poe of the Eleven Point Community of Pocahontas died Thursday January 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family, she was 72 years old.
 
She was born March 12, 1939 in Pocahontas to the late Clarence E. & Nellie Wilcox Peters; she married Elmer Lee Poe in Rockford, IL on July 2, 1959. She was a faithful member of the Gravesville Community Church and worked for many years at Waterloo Industries of Pocahontas. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and listening to gospel music.
 
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Lee & David Lee Poe; one brother, Clarence Earl Peters; five sisters, Mary Jean Peters, Rosie Lee Smith, Sandra Bogue, Debra Peters, and Carol Irene Peters.
 
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Elmer of the home; four children, Larry Poe of Pocahontas, Dan & Judy Poe of Crystal Lake, IL, Michael Poe, and Patty Poe both of Pocahontas; four sisters, Gene & James Bilderback, Evelyn Green, Valirie & Montgomery Stickel, and Reba & David Clarke; one brother, Roger & Donna Peters; 5 grandchildren; one great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends survive her.
 
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:pm to 8:pm at Higginbotham Funeral Service in Walnut Ridge, where services will be held Saturday at 2:pm in the chapel, Rev. Carl Massey officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravesville Cemetery in Randolph County, her four grandsons, David, Jordan, Stephen, and Adam Poe are honored to serve her as pallbearers; two honorary pallbearers will be Harold Snow and Billy Jack Snow.

Telene Vera Decker of Walnut Ridge died Tuesday evening, January10, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, she was 47 years old.
She was born January 16, 1964 in San Diego, CA to the lateBilly Eugene and Patricia Ann Gaskin Decker. In addition to her parents she ispreceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Ray Decker.
She is survived by her son, Billy Killough; sister, SeleneDecker two grandchildren, Trinity & Katlin Killough; all of Walnut Ridge;one brother, Keith E. Decker, Fort Worth, TX; nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends also survive her.

Dosha W. Kifer of Ste. Marie, IL died Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN, she was 75 years old.   Dosha was born on May 27, 1936 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas the daughter of Jerry and Elzora (McCall) Price.    She married Donald Charles Kifer on May 30, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2010.   Dosha was a homemaker and a waitress.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog.

Dosha is survived by, two children, Terry B. Kifer of Hebron, IN and Donna M. (Mathew) Barnett of Ste. Marie, IL; 4 Grandchildren, Jerry (Cindy) Mashburn of Olney, IL; Shane (Amy) Mashburn of Ste. Marie, IL; Brittany (Eric) Jarosick of Ste. Marie, IL and Amanda Kifer of Hebron, IN; 1 Step-Grandson, Jerry Pittman Hebron, IN, 7 Great-Grandchildren, Landon, Claudia, Julianna and Daimon Mashburn; Hayley and Tessa Mills and Mark Medrano, Jr.; 3 Step-Grandchildren, Michael, Destiny and Aiden; two brothers, Nathan (Merle) Price of Granite City, IL and Leroy (Mary) Price of Strawberry, AR; five Sisters, Evelyn Murphy of Hoxie, AR; Ruby Murphy of East Alton, IL; Helen Murphy of Hoxie, AR; Bernice Williams of Walnut Ridge, AR; Stella Riggs of Hoxie, AR; Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends  also survive her.

Noma Ruth Mullen DeJarnette of Portia died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, she was 80 years old.
She was born March 5, 1931 at Strawberry, Arkansas to the late Cleo and Rosa Green Mullen. Noma graduated from Strawberry High School. She was married to the late Glen DeJarnette. She was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide, and member of Portia Missionary Landmark Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Earl, Jeff, Glen, and R.W. Mullen, three sisters; Lois Osborne, Idel Wilburn, and Maye Hoggard, and one son; Jimmie Lee DeJarnette.
Noma is survived by three sons; Everett Gene & Cletha DeJarnette, Jackie DeJarnette, both of Portia, Scott and wife Melody of Sedgwick and a daughter-in-law, Sheri DeJarnette of White Hall. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday; Jan. 2, 2012 from 12: pm until the 2: pm service at Higginbotham Funeral Service of Walnut Ridge with Rev. Carl Cate officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery near Strawberry.

Judy Lynn Smithy Roberson of Walnut Ridge and formerly of Pocahontas died Tuesday Dec. 27, 2011 at a Little Rock hospital, she was 62 years old.
She was born on July 29, 1949 in New Albany, MS to the late Julius Eason & Stella Marie Crosswhite Smithey. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her three sons, Charles & Beverly Roberson, Jr., Jason Roberson, Derrick & Shawna Roberson, all of Pocahontas, one daughter, Christinea & Brian Johnson of Walnut Ridge; five sisters, Jeanie Roberson of Boonville, MS, Brenda Kizer of Myrtle, MS, Linda Mowery of New Albany, MS, Pam Mason and Dannette Roberson both of Mountain Home, AR; one brother, Rick Smithey of New Albany, MS; 13 Grandchildren; special friend, Helen Simpson of Pocahontas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her.
The family will receive friends Saturday Dec. 31, 2011 from 12:00 until the 2:00pm service at Higginbotham Funeral Service of Walnut Ridge, Rev. Heston Matthews of Smithville died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his residence. He was 84 years old.
He was born May 9, 1927 in Smithville to the late Thomas Monroe & Martha Susan Winters Matthews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Tommy David Matthews.
He served on the Board of the Bank of Cave City, he was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church, and served his country in World War II in the Army.
He is survived by a brother Ancel Matthews and wife Lucille of Imboden; three nieces, Ann Sutton of Pocahontas, Susan Taylor of Smithville, and Cindy Price of Paragould. Other relatives and friends also survive him.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00 at the Smithville United Methodist Church with services following at 1:00 with Bob McMillion officiating. Burial will follow at Smithville Cemetery.  Honored to serve as pallbearers are Harold Foley, Bobby Justice, Ben Foley, Danny Foley, Clint Burrow and David McAnally. Honorary Pallbearers are Dwight Redus, Basil Thacker, Cecil Balentine, Tom Goff and Roger Helms.

Ruth McDaniel Walker of Trumann and formerly of West Memphis died Monday morning, December 26, 2011, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old.
She was born May 16, 1924 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Frank and Johnnie Henson McDaniel.
She married William (Buddy) Walker on September 4 1943, in Hernando, MS; she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Trumann.
She is survived by one son, William Ted Walker and wife Geneva of Trumann; and one daughter, Becky W. Frost and husband Robert L. of Trumann. 2 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends also survive her.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday Dec. 29, 2011 at 11:am with the Rev. Tad Rogers officiating burial at Walker Cemetery, Hardy, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service of Walnut Ridge.

 Julia A. Huskey of Saffell died Wednesday morning Dec. 7, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family, she was 94 years old.
She was born August 12, 1917 in Coffman, Arkansas to the late Lee William & Mary Ellen Freeman Bailey. In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband  Willie Edward Huskey; her son Jerry Lee Huskey; four sisters, Lucy Quarry, JoAlice Davis, Beulah Taylor; one brother, Robert Lee Bailey;
Mrs. Huskey was married July 14, 1934 in Lynn; she was an active member of the Saffell Missionary Baptist Church; she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, puzzles; and cooking. Her most favorite was preparing food and having fun with her family.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Carrell Gene & Mildred Huskey, Willie Edward & Eula Mae Huskey, and Rickey Wayne & Levenia Huskey, all of Strawberry; her four daughters  and sons-in-law, Mary JoEllen & Carlton Wann of Paragould, Deborah Suzanne & Denton Penn of Green Valley, IL, Barbara Lou Broadway of Smithville, and Kathey Rena & Archie Wilson of Jonesboro; one half brother, Frank Bailey and her half sister Wilene Davis of Jonesboro; 25 grandchildren; 25 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her.
The family will receive friends Friday evening after 5:pm at the Saffell Missionary Baptist Church in Saffell, where services will be held on Saturday Dec. 10, 2011 at 10:am with Mike Gaskill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Ward Cemetery. Honored to serve her as pallbearers are Derrick Huskey, Scotty Huskey, Jimmy Huskey, Brett Broadway, David Wann, and Tommy Wilson; Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Huskey, Rusty Huskey, Jeff Huskey, Keith Keith Huskey, Lyle Huskey, Willie Jo Huskey, Corkey Penn, and Bart Penn.

Kenneth Marion Stephens-81 son of the late Joshua and Bessie Stephens passed away Saturday . He was preceded by his parents brother Richard Stephens son Donald Stephens and great-grandson Beau Young. He also received the Sloan Hendrix Appreciation Plaque.His Service was Tuesday December 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Assembly of God Church In Imboden with Michael Bradley officiating burial that followed in Hope Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday from 6:00-8:00 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers were Grandsons and Great-Grandsons
