Richard “Glenn” Blackburn, 64, passed away at his home Saturday, May 27, 2023 of liver cancer. He was known by many people, because of his knowledge of auto parts and NAPA. He was an accomplished contractor for Morgan Buildings, he served on the Black Rock School Board, and was a Jaycee in Mississippi where he made many friends. He was very talented at art painting, cake decorating, cross stitching, and macramé. His hobbies were his 1952 Ford truck that he completely restored, mowing the yard, gardening, and traveling around Arkansas. His family was his pride and joy.

He was united in marriage to Cindi Hedgepeth on September 25, 1982. She was the love of his life, but the bane of his existence. Many fun times with his family were had as he and his brothers were always joking around; laughter was a given at family gatherings. He will be truly missed by so many.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Leroy and Helen Marie; a brother, Thomas Leroy; mother and father-in-law, Rev. John and Helena Hedgepeth.

Survivors include his wife Cindi of the home; daughters, Stephanie (Stan) Jones of Hoxie, Kayce (Joe) Cole of McComb, MS, Linsay (Richard) Pounds of Portia, Lauren (Tanner) Duncan of Paragould; a son, Layton Blackburn of the home; four grandchildren, Ava Kirkland, Jake Kirkland, Bader Duncan, and Kerrigan Pounds; sister, Cindy Deen of Imboden; and a brother, Gary (Sandy) Blackburn of Black Rock; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Lisa Baggett, Wayne and Becky Hedgepeth, David and Marcia Penny, Wade and Linda Hedgepeth; all of Monticello, and John and Sandy Shepherd of Mobile, Alabama, and a host of nieces and nephews that he was so proud of.

Honorary pall bearers are his church family, Bill Powell, Jim Jones, Tim Norton, NAPA crew, Eric Vance, Scott Maronde, Ken Archer, and Billy Ken Rowsey.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 3-6 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas with Brother Robert Hutcherson and Tanner Duncan officiating.
