Former Detention Center Employee Arrested For Furnishing Prohibited Articles
From the Independence County Sheriff’s Office:
On January 9, 2023 Investigators with Independence County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force arrested Austin Taylor for two counts of Furnishing Prohibited Articles. Taylor, former employee of the Independence County Detention Facility, was found in possession of contraband.
The investigators placed Taylor into custody and he is being held at another agency for security reasons while the investigation continues.
Formal charges were filed on January 10, 2023 with a $10,000 bond.
