Authorities are reporting a teen who escaped from a Memphis hospital after being shot while attempting to rob a female was arrested following a pursuit after days on the run.

Damon Dickey was arrested in Greene County on Thursday night after authorities attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation according to reports.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office issued a missing person advisory this week after Dickey was able to leave a hospital in Memphis.

Dickey was involved in an attempted robbery in Paragould and shot by the victim’s daughter before being taken to a Memphis hospital where he left against medical advice.

Paragould PD stated no officer was with Dickey at the hospital in Memphis when he was able to leave.

Authorities stated an investigation into the suspect’s release would be launched but also said the hospital had no obligation to inform law enforcement due to the hospital being in a different state.

Dickey suffered “life-threatening” injuries according to authorities when he was shot, but was able to leave after getting medical care at Regional One.

Authorities believe Dickey was receiving assistance from another person while eluding law enforcement.

Multiple law enforcement agencies aided in the three-day search for Dickey after leaving the hospital.

Authorities did not believe Dickey was a threat to the public due to his injuries.

Dickey was arrested and now faces additional charges. He will be charged as an adult.
