The Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of a Jonesboro man that was incarcerated in the Lawrence County Detention Center.
Arkansas State Police, Matthew Scott Shipman age 35 of Jonesboro died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 3rd at the Lawrence County Detention Center.
Shipman’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of death.
Authorities say an active investigation has been launched by the Arkansas State Police, authorities are waiting for the autopsy results.
Shipman was being held in the Lawrence County Detention Center on possession of methamphetamine and simultaneous possession of narcotics and a firearm at the time of his death.
