According to authorities, the fire that damaged some 26 boats and caused damage to a dock at Tracy Ferry Marina on Norfork Lake apparently started when a boat motor exploded.
Authorities say a boat’s owner stated that he was working on the running lights of his vessel and the motor was running when it suddenly exploded and caught fire.
The owner stated that his family called 911 and two men attempted to extinguish the fire out with fire extinguishers but were unsuccessful.
One person suffered burns to the back and neck and was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Numerous fire departments responded to the fire which took hours to extinguish.
