Shortly after 9pm on Tuesday night Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop a gray Infiniti SUV in the Westwood Circle area of Walnut Ridge. The suspect vehicle refused to stop for law enforcement and began fleeing from the officer.
The pursuit made its way onto Hwy 91 leading out of the Walnut Ridge area, across US 63 and towards Egypt at speeds of over 80 mph. At one point the suspect vehicle turned its lights off in an attempt to elude the pursuing officer.
The pursuit continued through Egypt towards Cash, Arkansas In Craighead County.
At 9:28pm the vehicle reported crash at Hwy 226 near a Citgo station in Cash with the suspect exiting the vehicle and fleeing into the farm fields on foot.
Units from the Arkansas State Police Troop B and Troop C converged on the scene to assist. Tracking dogs and a drone were brought in to assist with finding the suspect.
The search continued in the area until 11:33pm when officers called off the search for the suspect.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and the investigation continues into the incident.
