According to a recent report there are 767,000 registered sex offenders in the United States with over 18,000 of those live in Arkansas.

The data collected by safe house.org states that there are just under 600 registered sex offenders per 100,000 residents in the state.

Data was compiled from each state since there is no national data base. The data was compiled beginning in 2019 from each state.

The State of Arkansas has a high number of child sex abuse victims per 100,000 minors in the state, higher than any other state according to the report. Nearly three times the national average the study says.

Research also found that Arkansas currently has the highest rate of child sexual abuse reports in the nation with 254 cases per 100,000 children reported in 2020, more than triple the national rate.

The Arkansas Department of Public Safety has a feature on its website where you can search for registered sex offenders by address, city or zip code.

Experts say the best way to prevent abuse is by empowering kids and letting them know they can tell you if something like this were to happen to them.
