Curtis Lee Humes, 22, of Black Rock, AR gained his angel wings Thursday, October 7, 2021.

He was born December 21, 1998 in Newport AR to James “PeeWee” and Jennifer Humes.  

Curtis was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Forrest (Frosty) and Fay Kemper and Ralph and Maxine Hill; grandparents, Syd H. Humes, Alta Mae Simington, and Max Hill; and uncles, Bruce Hill and Frank Humes.  

He is survived by his parents, James “PeeWee” and Jennifer Humes; one brother, Syd Humes and fiancé Brandi; a niece and nephew; grandmother, Virginia Hill; his black cat, Bandit; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and classmates.  

Curtis was a 2016 graduate of Sloan Hendrix High School. He began BRTC that fall graduating in May of 2017 with a welding certificate. Curtis went on to continue his education receiving an Auto CAD Level 1 Certificate, Microcomputer Repair Technician of Proficiency Certificate, and Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology. He worked in the computer lab at BRTC, and was a founding member of the BRTC mascot, Stryker. Curtis was a member of SAB and an Ambassador of SGA. As a member of the Moose Lodge 2405, he was recently appointed as a trustee on the board. Adding to his list of accomplishments, Curtis won many awards at car shows with his 1980 Chevy pickup.  

Curtis loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved anything loud and fast. He loved his vehicles and flying his flags. Curtis liked to pick at his friends, play his playstation, going to work at NAPA and picking on his coworkers, and hanging out with his Moose Lodge family while playing pool and shuffleboard. He would talked to anyone and liked hanging out and lounging around the house with his family and kitty Bandit. Curtis will be missed by all who knew him. 

There will be a visitation at McNabb Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 4-6 P.M. with a Memorial at 7:00 P.M. for anyone who would like to share their memories of Curtis. Burial will be private.
