A pursuit on Saturday that began in Stone County, went through Independence County and ended in Sharp County according to reports.

Authorities say they attempted to stop Marty J. Thorne age 51, of Chula, Mo. for a simple speeding violation in Stone County when the suspect refused to stop and began to flee from officers in a 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab Truck.

Authorities say the suspect was caught on radar running 80 mph in a 40 mph zone, the suspect refused to stop, continued through to Independence County, through Batesville and through Cave City until spike strips were used North of Cave City at Mill Creek Bridge.

Sharp County authorities set up spike strips and the speeding truck ran over them ending the pursuit after the vehicle crashed into a ditch.

Thorne now faces 19 criminal charges including fleeing, reckless driving, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, driving on a suspended license, DUI/drugs, and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
