Judge Rob Ratton issued a change of venue for Quake Lewellyn, the suspect accused of capital murder and rape of Sydney Sutherland in 2020.

Circuit Judge Rob Ratton issued an order on Monday that the case be moved to Lawrence County.

Defense attorneys for Quake Lewellyn requested in July to move the case out of Jackson County and into another county in the district.

The 3rd Judicial District includes Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, and Sharp counties.

Lewellyn faces kidnapping and abuse of corpse charges in Sydney Sutherland.

Lewellyn’s attorney argued that they did not believe their client could get a fair trial in Jackson County because of all the media attention and public interest in the case.
