Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell released the following statement today…
This morning around 3:30 AM deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the Redskin Hilltop gas station on Highway 62 West. When they arrived no one was there but the door had been shot out and the cash register shot several times with a gun. Deputies were able to access the surveillance system and quickly develop a suspect and vehicle description.
While still working the scene, deputies spotted the suspect as he drove back by the store. They quickly stopped and arrested him. They retrieved several firearms, including one with an illegal silencer.
This is still an ongoing investigation and more details will follow. The suspect is being held at the Randolph County Jail on several felony charges.
