Charles Paul Stovall, age 24 of Cherokee Village, appeared in a Randolph County Court before Judge Rob Ratton in Pocohontas and entered guilty pleas for the murders of Linda Janny, age 72 of Cherokee Village and Hayleigh Gruger, age 23 of Cherokee Village along with the attempted murder of Deborah Compton, age 41.

Initially Stovall was charged with two counts of capital murder, two counts abuse of a corpse, battery in the first degree, aggravated residential burglary, two counts breaking or entering and theft of property.

In a plea agreement, Stovall pled guilty to two counts of capital murder which carry life sentences without the possibility of parole and battery in the first degree which carries a sentence of 240 months. All other charges in this case have been null processed according to court records
