Cody Thomas Weathers, 28, of Batesville who was wanted for questioning by the Independence County Sheriff’s Office was arrested by Springfield Police in Missouri at 8:22 pm Tuesday night according to the public information officer with the Springfield Police Department on unrelated charges.
According to a police report, officers received information involving a theft from Battlefield First Baptist Church, in Battlefield, Mo. Weathers was arrested by the Springfield Police Department.
Independence County Sheriff Office stated Weathers was a person of interest in a suspicious death that occurred in Independence County.
BOLO’s (Be On The Lookout) were dispatched to surrounding counties in an effort to locate the suspect. Arkansas State Police and Arkansas Game and Fish were involved in the hunt for Weathers.
According to the ASP the body of Adam Lowry, 30, was discovered inside a residence at 1320 Rounds Road, east of Batesville.
