Izard County authorities announced the arrest of an Ash Flat man for domestic battery, aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Tuesday the subject is expected in circuit court on the charges.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to Day Road, outside of Horseshoe Bend on Nov. 11th for a domestic assault.

Investigators determined Michael Gilbreath age 46, of Ash Flat, had assaulted an 89 year old victim. Authorities stated that Gilbreath also held a knife to the victim’s throat and threatened the victim’s life. The report stated minors were present during the alleged assault.

Gilbreath was arrested and taken to jail and was being held on a $20,000 cash only bond.
