Thelma “Cookie†Melton, 74 of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital with her family by her side. She was born March 13, 1946 to Burt and Maxine Combs Wildrick in Black Rock. Cookie worked and retired from ASU and was of Baptist belief. She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren; enjoyed spending time in the hills, watching hummingbirds and having her dog, Rusty by her side. Cookie is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Travis.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Jerry of the home; 2 daughters, April (Tony) Rasdon of Jonesboro and Alice Taylor of Highland; grandchildren, Hunter Rasdon, Jason Rasdon, Damon Davis, Savannah Klimetz, Courtney Moore, Chase and Brock Tyner; great grandchildren, 8 with 1 on the way.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home from 5-7 P.M.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Jonesboro Memorial Park at 3 P.M. with Bryce King officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
