On Monday, Quake Lewellyn was escorted into a Jackson County courtroom where Judge Harold Erwin found probable cause to formally charge Lewellyn with capital murder, kidnapping and rape in the case of Sydney Sutherland.

Arkansas State Police Investigators said in court that Lewellyn admitted to seeing Sutherland walking on CR-41 when he abducted her, sexually assaulted her then murdered her and buried the body on farm land.

No plea was entered in today’s court proceedings.

Prosecutor Henry Boyce was quoted today saying “Capital murder only carries two punishments. That’s life without parole and death, at this point both are on the table.”

Judge Erwin ordered Lewellyn held without bond and set an October 1st court date for the suspect.

Quake Lewellyn is being held in the Randolph County Jail.
