Warning signs have now been placed in the area where a Paragould woman recently drown in the Spring River. According to a post by Scott Rose from the Hardy PD the warnings were put out today.
Scott Rose said in his post “Here are photos of the area of the waterfall where we recently had a tragic loss of life. Banners were made and placed in two locations one just in front of the danger area and another Upper River to warn folks. “
“Sharp County Judges office Judge Gene Moore & Jermy Langston are working vigorously with State authorities who regulate this river and attempting to come up with a solution to remove this dangerous hole properly and legally. “
“It is my understanding that the Arkansas department of environmental quality and Arkansas Corps of Engineers are the two main divisions who regulates what takes place on the river so I do believe that’s who is being coordinated with to make this happen. In the meantime please be aware that the river is a great place to come to and enjoy but you must respect it And know that water is very powerful. Waterfalls are a prime area for holes to be forced into the rock bed through cracks and crevices and eventually become large enough to swallow a human. “
