Fair Board President James Ratliff announced the following message:
“The Lawrence County Fair held their monthly meeting tonight.
After a long and lengthy discussion whether to have a fair or not to have a fair, it was decided that Lawrence County would not have a fair this year. We took in consideration before coming to this decision,the safety of students at Sloan-Hendrix and the residents of Lawrence County. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.â€
