The body of 91 year old Lee Roy Davis was discovered mid-day on Sunday according to Sharp County authorities.
Mr. Davis was last seen on South Micco Drive sometime Saturday. According to reports Mr. Davis suffered from dementia and had walked away from his residence. Sharp County authorities, Cherokee Village authorities, volunteer firefighters and even a helicopter with night vision were used Saturday night in an attempt to locate.
Sunday morning organized volunteers along with authorities gathered to continue the search. Clothing descriptions and photos were circulated to volunteers. Numerous media and social media post also were put out in an effort to gain volunteers and make locals aware in case he was spotted. Arkansas State Police also issued a Silver Alert.
Shortly after noon the announcement came with the sad news that Davis’ body had been located by searchers.
No other details have been released indicating cause of death. We will continue to monitor for updates.
