Governor Hutchinson Announces Largest Single Day Increase In COVID Cases

In his daily news conference today, Governor Hutchinson announced an increase of 261 cases over the last 24 hours. Total cases are 6538 with 4583 recoveries statewide.

The Governor also announced 67,500 test have been completed in May. 2966 test have been conducted in the last 24 hours with the positivity rate of 3.5%. ADH reports 1830 active cases in the state with 71 in nursing facilities, 374 in corrections and the remainder in the community.

The statewide death toll increased by 5 to 125 deaths. 104 are currently hospitalized with 27 on ventilators.

In the last 24 hours an additional 8 nursing home residents , 8 healthcare workers and 6 staff have tested positive. In the last 24 hour increase the top three counties with increases have been in Benton, Washington and Pulaski with a large amount of positive test in the Latino community.
