Lawrence County Dispatch received several 911 calls about a subject being assaulted in a restaurant parking lot in Black Rock shortly after 3pm today.

Apparently some type of incident occurred between two truck drivers while traveling north on Hwy 63 through Lawrence County. One truck stopped at a local restaurant parking lot in Black Rock and was joined by the second driver in the incident who allegedly struck the other driver knocking him unconscious before leaving the scene. Witnesses called for law enforcement and an ambulance for the injured driver. The suspect left in what was described as a green Freightliner truck pulling a JB Hunt trailer toward Imboden.

The injured driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The suspect was intercepted by Lawrence County Deputies and stopped in Imboden. Benjamin Collins III of Texas was detained by officers for questioning while Black Rock PD escorted two witnesses from Black Rock to Imboden to identify the suspect. Both witnesses positively identified the suspect as being the assailant involved in the incident.

Collins was arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Detention Center. The condition of the victim is unknown.

Arkansas State Police assisted in the incident.
