Billy Joe Rice passed away March 14, 2020 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born November 5, 1936 to Albert Rex and Mabel Divine Rice in Delaplaine, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. He worked as a supervisor at TRW Cinch and Northern Technologies for many years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Glenda; his parents; 2 brothers, Howard and Ralph Rice; 1 sister, Beulah Rice; 1 granddaughter, Sara Johnson; stepfather, Chacy Eveland; step brothers, CR, Sol, and Randy Eveland; and step sisters Darlene Paulsen and Phyllis Wilkerson.
Billy is survived by 1 son, Barry Rice of Newport News, VA; 2 daughters, Vicky Mitchell of Imboden and Brenda Dennis of Pocahontas; 1 brother, Roger Eveland of Pocahontas; 1 step sister, Christina French of Pocahontas; 7 grandchildren, Gary, Brandon, Rachel, Samantha, Rebecca, Carla and Madison; 3 great grandchildren and another on the way; and 2 step great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Johnson, Brandon Rice, Richard Penn, Tony Rice, Jeff Phillips, and Ron Hicks. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Dale Rice, Danny McCandless, Dick Poindexter, and Jackie Johnson.
Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2020, 5-7 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
