A Hoxie woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Lawrence County Deputies after an incident caused Union Pacific trains to be stopped in the Walnut Ridge area. At 5:30 pm a Walnut Ridge Patrolman noticed a female acting suspicious and walking near the railroad without any shoes. As the officer approached and ask if she needed any help, the female refused to speak with officer and began to run down the tracks from the officer. Lawrence County Deputies were called to assist as the female continued down the tracks. Dispatchers notified Union Pacific to hold all trains in the area. The female identified as 40 year old Kristy Besson of Hoxie continued to refuse to comply and continued to evade the officers by running into a field before being taken into custody at 5:37 pm.

Besson was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and public intoxication. She was booked into the Lawrence County Detention Center.

Trains were released at 5:42pm and no injuries were reported.
