Man Arrested After Fleeing From Officers In Front Of Lawrence County Detention Center

A short foot pursuit involving a man sitting in front of the Lawrence County Detention Center At 6:12 pm Wednesday evening. According to reports, a jailer witnessed the male allegedly smoking illegal drugs in a vehicle in the parking lot. Law enforcement was requested to investigate the suspicious male, a Hoxie PD unit in the area attempted to make contact with the subject when he suddenly fled on foot. Other units from Walnut Ridge and Lawrence County also converged on the area to assist.

The subject was next spotted by an off duty firefighter running behind the Wonderful Chinese Super Buffet. Units closed in on the area and the subject was taken into custody by a Lawrence County Deputy on West Walnut in Walnut Ridge.

The subject was identified as a Kyle Heckle, last known address of Jonesboro. Heckle showed to have two outstanding felony warrants, one out of Clay County and one out of Craighead County. Heckle is also said to have a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2011 in both Florida and Arkansas with numerous convictions ranging from drug convictions to burglary charges.
