Natural Remedies Workshop

Meeting Place: Education Center                

Cost: $10 per person

Early Arkansas settlers used herbs not only for cooking but also for herbal remedies in the absence of modern medicine. Many of these remedies are still used today. This workshop will provide information about herbs and their many useful properties.

Looking for some cool fun Thursday, July 4th? Start the holiday right and stop by Davidsonville to join staff as we make and enjoy homemade ice cream the old-fashioned way. As we wait for the ice cream to chill, we’ll make a splash by playing water balloon volleyball.

Come learn how residents of Davidsonville beat the heat 200 years ago. Join a park interpreter at the visitor center and we’ll brave the July heat and make historic beverages that Arkansans used to stay hydrated and cool in the summer heat.

Join Park Interpreter Geoffrey and journey back in time before the days of cell phones, e-mail, type-writers, and ink pens to learn how messages would have been written and sent in Davidsonville’s time. 

Historic Games and Outside Fun

Meeting Place: Visitor Center Porch 

Cost: Free                 

Come when you can and bring the whole family out for a fun morning at Davidsonville to learn how kids of all ages kept themselves entertained two hundred years ago. Relay races, the game of graces, toys, and other activities will provide opportunities to face off against family, friends, and fellow park visitors. This program is great for parents who need some quiet “coffee” time before packing up the camper to head home from the weekend.

Davidsonville Discovery Day

Thursday, July 11, 2019- 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Meeting Place: Education Center                

Cost: $10 per person

Summer is here, so come explore Davidsonville Historic State Park and get ready for a day of fun and games. This day of outdoor zaniness is for kids ages 10 and up and you must preregister for the event by Monday, July 8th.
