Professors from Williams Baptist University shared some of Arkansas’ history with IACS elementary students during an annual Arkansas History Day.

Students enjoyed interacting with the professors, learning from them, and discussing their own research on Arkansas History topics.

Professor Jerry Gibbens talked about the history of Lawrence County and World War II.  He discussed changes in the county and in industry over the years and shared about the military base in Walnut Ridge.

Dr. Blake Perkins gave a presentation on the settlement of Northeast Arkansas.  He discussed notable individuals and their contributions to the development of the area. He also outlined changes in county lines and in local towns.
